Every December the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce brings together members and community leaders to highlight its significant achievements at their annual State of Business meeting. This year’s hot topic? Amazon’s HQ2. This multi-million square foot epicenter will include office, retail and residential space.
Leading the discussion were several key players who will be working hand in hand to oversee various pieces of the 2019 development. Panelists included President & CEO of Alexandria Economic Development Partnership, Stephanie Landrum; Senior Vice President of Greenhill Realty Company, Rich Greenberg; Teddy Kim of Avanti Holdings Group, and Executive Vice President of Perseus TDC, Adam Peters.
Landrum began by sharing her enthusiasm for the project, “Between Amazon, VA Tech, and all the new businesses that will be brought in by these two ring leaders we are leading the way for the next chapter of Alexandria.”
Greenhill Realty Group will lead the West End redevelopment and plans to create a flexible space offering a 24/7 atmosphere - where you can work, play, live.
Avanti Holdings Group will focus more on the North End. Avanti is planning for a diverse rebrand in order to create inclusive community anchors, including a coffee bistro, Top Shop Tacos, a fitness boutique, and Marlowe Ink.
Purseus TDC will be refurbishing 200 Stovall from commercial to residential space, to include 520 residential units. The redevelopment will feature a three story fitness center, sports bar and 10 thousand square feet of rooftop amenities.
