The Del Ray Citizens Association (DRCA) will host the 2024 Del Ray House & Garden Tour this spring. The self-guided walking tour will feature a variety of homes and gardens in Alexandria’s Del Ray neighborhood.
The tour is set for Saturday, May 11, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., rain or shine.
Tickets are on sale here: https://delraycitizens.org/2024-house-and-garden-tour/
Ticket holders will be able to visit eight to 10 properties, including carefully maintained cottages, newly constructed homes and those with recent renovations.
The House and Garden Tour has been held biennially from 1999 until 2018. With the COVID-19 pandemic, plans for a tour in 2020 and 2022 were put on hold.
“The House and Garden Tour is extremely popular, attracting over 600 visitors to our community,” said Lisa Quandt, co-chair of the DRCA House and Garden Committee.
“And it has always been our biggest fundraise,” she noted. The tour will coincide with the Del Ray Vintage & Flea Market.
Proceeds from ticket sales go toward neighborhood projects. In 2018, the tour raised more than $14,000 for the planned Nancy Dunning Garden and the Del Ray Gateway Project, while other tours have supported the Mt. Vernon School playground and neighborhood parks.
