ACT President & CEO Heather Peeler and ACT Operations Manager Sally Gardner are ready to give to their favorite causes through Spring2ACTion.
Today is the first day of Spring and that means Spring2ACTion, Alexandria’s Giving Day is just around the corner.
Spring2ACTion, hosted by ACT for Alexandria, is Alexandria’s biggest fundraising event – in fact, since 2011, 55,000 generous donors have given more than $8 million dollars to 160 nonprofits through Spring2ACTion, making it one of the most successful city-wide giving days in the country!
Last year, 9,438 donors raised $1,812,851 for 156 nonprofits serving Alexandria. Learn more here.
This year, our goal is for 10,000 donors to raise $2 million for the 160 organizations helping to make Alexandria a strong, vibrant community for all.
To whom should I give?
Your favorite nonprofit(s)! Click here see a list of participating organizations. Don’t know where to give? You can “Give to a Cause” – the options include Animals, Arts & Culture, Education, Homelessness and Housing, Poverty & Hunger, Seniors, and Youth.
Why should I give?
This is the day to celebrate and support the nonprofits in Alexandria that make this a better place for everyone to live. Plus, your gift could be matched and help your favorite nonprofit win a prize! If you’re new to giving, this is a great opportunity to find a new organization to support. Everyone can give – the minimum donation is $5.

Where should I give?
Online at www.Spring2ACTion.org – you can give through your computer or via your phone. You can begin making donations on March 27 through Early Giving. We believe giving is social and encourage you to attend one of the many Spring2ACTion events happening all over Alexandria. Click here to see the calendar of events.
When should I give?
Wednesday, April 10, 2019 is Spring2ACTion day! While the official day for this online giving extravaganza is April 10, early giving starts on March 27. It’s kind of like early voting, but you can give EARLY and OFTEN!
How can I help?
- Make a donation! Local businesses are offering special promotions with proof of donation including a free donut from Sugar Shack. Visit the calendar of events for more giveaways.
- Tell your friends, family, co-workers and neighbors about Spring2ACTion via email, social media - #Spring2ACTion, or word-of-mouth. Send us your “I Spring2ACTion because…” – we’d love to share your story on social media!
