Realtor Lisa Groover sits with art from Torpedo Factory artists at a real estate listing in Old Town Alexandria.
Although competition for homes remains high in our area, real estate agents are using interesting tools to drive interest to high-end properties.
Earlier this month, McEnearney Associates Realtor Lisa Groover opened an art show with works from two award-winning Torpedo Factory artists.
The listing, at 418 S. Fayette St., featured work from Beverly Ryan and Marsha Staiger — two artists who adorn the walls of Groover's own home.
"It provided the 'WOW' factor for this lovely home in Old Town Alexandria," Groover said.
She hopes to make this a series of art events in Alexandria homes for sale.
The event kicked off Thursday, Sept. 10 with an opening reception for real estate agents and their clients, potential buyers, art lovers and neighbors.
Live Facebook tours and in-person open houses (with masks, gloves and lots of cleaning measures) took place that weekend and the home was under contract within days.
The 3 bed, 2.5 bath townhome was listed for $899,000.
