Redevelopment of the Old Town waterfront is entering a new phase this month with the opening of Robinson Landing’s townhome model and sales center.
The first residents are expected to move in this fall.
When completed, the new waterfront community between Duke and Wolfe streets will include 70 condominium and 26 townhome residences with retail and indoor/outdoor dining along a new waterfront promenade and revitalized pier.
The sales center is opening Sept. 15.
Robinson Landing attracted much attention this spring and summer as timber frames from mid-18th century ships and other Colonial-era artifacts were unearthed from the wharf and building foundations as part of an extensive archaeological exploration.
“We uncovered some significant finds that tell the story of how the early residents ofAlexandria built the waterfront and conducted commerce,” said Evan Goldman, VicePresident for Robinson Landing developer EYA LLC. “As the archaeology dig concludes, and the ships and artifacts are donated to the City for further study, we’re now focusing our attention on delivering one of the most desirable waterfront neighborhoods in Washington, D.C. and the mid-Atlantic.”
The new townhomes feature distinctive brick façades with large-paned windows and design elements that echo the site’s history as an active waterfront and warehouse district.
Available in four contemporary open floor plans, the townhomes offer rooftop terraces, three to five bedrooms, and approximately 2,300 to 3,020 square feet of living space with an elevator and river views, per plan.
The site will also feature three condominium buildings that are scheduled to open in early 2020. The one to three-bedroom homes offer unique opportunity for one-level living in Old Town. Living spaces range from approximately 1,320 to 3,290 square feet and are marked by expansive floor-to-ceiling windows and outdoor terraces.
In addition to the new residences, Robinson Landing is part of a larger citywide plan to activate and beautify the waterfront.
