Greenstreet Gardens, the popular gardening center with four locations in Northern Virginia and Maryland, has opened a new center in Belle Haven.
The garden center closed its Del Ray location this week at 1503 Mt. Vernon Ave., and recently opened the new location in Belle Haven at Fort Hunt Road and Richmond Highway, just south of the City of Alexandria, in Fairfax County.
The garden center posted a message to its Del Ray customers Wednesday:
"Thank you SO much to all our Del Ray customers! As we move out of our current space and expand our Belle Haven location, we want to express our deepest gratitude to you, our loyal customers. We hope to see you soon at one of our other stores! Happy Gardening!"
Most of the employees moved to the new Belle Haven location or to the other Alexandria store at 1721 W. Braddock Road. The Greenstreet family opened its doors there in 2012, taking over the former Apple House nursery location.
The spot in Del Ray was formerly home to Eclectic Nature Gift and Garden Center.
