The local, woman-owned vintage market Evolution Home has moved into a new, bigger space in the West End.
Evolution Home relocated from the Belle Haven area to 861 S. Pickett St., next to Aslin Beer Co.
"Part vintage market, part antique mall, and part home goods consigner, Evolution Home is proud to build on 23 years of bringing Northern Virginia customers one-of-a-kind furniture, décor, and gifts," according to the company.
Through June 24 during the grand opening celebration, shoppers can plan to enjoy refreshments, win door prizes, and try their luck spinning a prize wheel during the event, while supplies last.
“As our customers and sales have grown, so has our need for space. This is our fourth move in 23 years, each move to a larger and better space,” said owner Susan Driscoll.
The company's previous location was a former bowling alley at 6239 Shields Ave. in the Belle Haven area. The move is because Lennar Corp. is planning to build hundreds of residential units on the 7.6 acres between Shields Avenue and Quander Road. The project is titled Alexandria Crossing.
Evolution Home has been a fixture in the Alexandria community since 1999, offering a curated vintage inventory and a constantly evolving selection of consignment furniture and décor. Its sister company, Market Ready, has catered to local home stagers and realtors with furniture leasing and staging services since 2011.
