Alexandria foodies will be happy to hear a new restaurant is coming to King Street.
Village Brauhaus is expected to serve up German fare at 710 King St. The restaurant's new website promises "great food, great beer and great times" and has plans to serve lunch and dinner.
The eatery has not yet applied for a license to sell alcohol, according to the Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority
The location was formerly home to John Strongbow's Tavern and Las Tapas.
The restaurant is just down the street from Bread & Chocolate, which will close its doors to make way for a new eatery, Java Grill.
Down the street and around the corner, at 1320 Prince St., a new coffee shop is planned serving small plates.
