Who doesn't like pizza? And who doesn't like free pizza?
A new pizza shop, &pizza at Potomac Yard, is planning to open Thursday, July 12 and will serve free pizza to the first 27 customers to walk through the door. Why 27? It's the 27th location for the company.
The eatery is still hiring for this location, at 3525 Jefferson Davis Highway. The restaurant will open at 11 a.m. daily.
The new pizzeria will join CAVA and Five Guys in the former Don Pablo's restaurant at Potomac Yard. The fast casual pizza chain serves up hot, made-to-order, oblong pizzas for dine-in or carry out.
The company is self-described as "an anti-establishment establishment built on the renown of its creative pies and craft beverages, localized shop design, and the strength, unity and vibe of its living-wage-paid, ampersand-tattooed Tribe."
&pizza also has locations at Reagan National Airport, the Springfield mall and in the Ballston neighborhood in Arlington. There are six locations in Virginia, and one opening soon in Tysons.
It has won several people's choice awards from Washington City Paper and won an Outside the Box Design Award for restaurant design in 2016 from Restaurant Development + Design magazine.
Tartan Properties is developing the site for the three restaurants.
