The annual Alexandria Warehouse Sale will return this year on Feb. 5 and 6. Due to concerns over COVID-19, like last year, this year the shopping event will be a walkable sale held throughout the streets of Old Town.
Close to 60 independent Alexandria boutiques and other businesses will be participating in this year’s sale in stores, pop-up tents and open retail spaces along King Street and nearby side streets.
A full list and map of participating retailers is available on the event website, www.oldtownboutiquedistrict.com/alexandria-warehouse-sale.
This year there will be a 'makers' component to the Warehouse Sale, as Made in ALX joins with more than two dozen local makers offering a variety of items from candles to honey, books, clothes, pet treats and Valentine's Day gifts. The maker sale will be at 201 N. Union St., the ALX Community Building along the waterfront, just north of the Torpedo Factory. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday for the Made in ALX sale.
Elsewhere, bargain hunters will find reduced prices of up to 80 percent off retail price on clothing, shoes, accessories, jewelry, pet products, home goods and so much more. There will be even more opportunities to save through contests and giveaways leading up to the sale.
This year, there will also be a drinks component to the sale, as Lost Boy Cider and Umbrella Dry Drinks both collaborate with local shops. Join Lost Boy Cider at fibre space on Saturday, Feb. 5 from 1 - 5 p.m. fibre space is located at 1319 Prince St. In addition, Umbrella Dry Drinks, a pop-up itself, will be hosting a Valentine's Cookie Decorating class on Sunday, Feb. 6 from noon - 1:30 p.m. (get tickets here).
The Old Town Boutique District’s Instagram account @otboutiques will post two giveaways in advance of the sale. Participants can share what they are most excited to shop for and get a chance to win an Old Town tote and a $25 gift card to the participating Warehouse Sale business of their choice. Four winners will be selected.
