The tall ship Godspeed will be stopping in Alexandria in October.
The ship is a recreation of one of the ships that brought America's first permanent English colonists to Virginia in 1607. The ship is coming up from the Jamestown area.
Visitors can board the Godspeed and learn about the ship, Jamestown's history and new experiences at the Jamestown Settlement and more.
Tours are first-come, first-served and there are no reservations.
The ship will be open as follows at the Old Town Alexandria waterfront:
- Friday, October 12: 3 to 6 pm
- Saturday, October 13: 1 to 6 pm
- Sunday, October 14: 12 to 5 pm
The Godspeed's visit is part of the Portside in Old Town Festival Oct. 12 through 14, which includes a pop-up beer garden from Port City Brewing, a pop-up Pizza Paradiso, hands-on craft and art projects, children's activities and more.
