The Alexandria Drive-In this weekend has already raised more than $3,000 for the Scholarship Fund of Alexandria, with more to come Sunday night.
There are five nonprofits in total that will benefit from ticket sales and donations during the Drive-In’s encore season. Proceeds of all ticket sales get divided up equally among those during the season. In addition, each weekend, one nonprofit sends volunteers and the Drive-In ask for direct donations for that nonprofit. Attendees are given the opportunity to donate when they buy tickets, buy food, or through a QR code on their giftcards.
This weekend, Jack Taylor’s Alexandria Toyota, ALX Community and The Garden are all matching donations if for every $1 a moviegoer donates, the Scholarship Fund of Alexandria get $3 more
Fast & Furious is showing Sunday night at 7:45 p.m., and tickets are still available.
