Grab a blanket, relax, and celebrate the history of wine in Virginia with live music, free wine samples from 20 participating wineries, and spectacular views of the Potomac River!
The Mount Vernon Fall Wine Festival and Sunset Tour is Oct. 5 to 7 at George Washington's Mount Vernon Estate.
It will kick off with appearances by George and Martha Washington followed by exclusive evening tours and a live blues band. During tours of the mansion, guests are invited to visit the cellar where Washington stored his wine and learn about the many successes and failures of our Founding Father’s endeavors with wine.
To accompany the samples, optional fruit and cheese boxes are available for advance purchase. A variety of hot and cold food and desserts including baguettes, gourmet sandwiches, and specialty sweets will also be served on site from the Mount Vernon Inn Restaurant.
Musical guests include Baltimore-based ensemble, David Bach Consort, the vibrant Nightlife Trio, and well-known D.C. blues musician, Bruce Ewan, who has been called a “harmonica wizard” by The Washington Post.
Tickets are $42 on October 5th, $48 on the 6th, and $38 on the 7th. VIP tables are also available for purchase and include admission for 12 people, three bottles of Mount Vernon house wine, a dessert platter from Alexandria Pastry Shop, a fruit and cheese tray from the Mount Vernon Inn Restaurant, and private waiter service.
