With COVID-19 restrictions loosening, many families are looking for fun ways to make Easter special this year. While many of the large Easter-egg hunts and celebrations have been cancelled, there are a number of smaller, socially-distant activities happening in Alexandria. Easter falls on Sunday, April 4 this year.
Easter & Spring DIY To Go Kits with AR Workshop

Enjoy hours of Easter fun for the whole family at home with the help of AR Workshop. The Easter Garden and Eggs Kit includes a Race Through The Garden Board Game, six mini Egg Blocks and Printables Collection! Enjoy a day of family fun at AR Workshop! Make any spring or Easter Mini Wood or Canvas Projects and take home a DIY Cookie Decorating Kit from Sugar Coated Bakery. Easter Egg Hunt at Lee-Fendall House

Due to smaller group sizes and extra health precautions this year, the popular annual Easter egg hunt sessions at Lee-Fendall House Museum and Garden are already sold out. Easter Eggs at the Anthenaeum

March 28 | 1 p.m. and 2 p.m.
Stop by the courtyard at the Antheneum for a fun Easter-themed workshop for children. Participants will decorate eggs using tie-dye and mosaic techniques. Space is limited to 10 people per session and masks are required. This event is free but attendees must RSVP ahead of time. Email admin@nvfaa.org and specify if you want to attend the 1 p.m. or 2 p.m. session.
Easter Craft Party Workshop at KidCreate Studio (ages 4 – 9)

April 3 |1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
During this class kids will create an Easter scene inside a papier mache egg featuring the classic Easter treat Peeps ®. Parents are asked to dress there kids in clothing that can get messy and pack a nut-free snack and drink for them to enjoy during the workshop. Masks are required. Cost for the April 2 class is $45 for members or $50 for non-members. Cost for the April 3 class is $35.10 for members and $39 for non-members. Find out more and register here.

You and up to eight guests can enjoy an Easter Egg hunt in the pool at Mount Vernon Rec Center. Only nine swimmers will be allowed in the water at a time. Annual Easter Egg Hunt (COVID-conscious style!)

Join Old Town Boutique District (OTBD) for a unique twist on their annual Easter egg hunt. Participates must collect six Easter eggs from OTBD shops that can be turned in at Monday’s Child (218 N. Lee St.) or 529 Kids Consign (122 S. Royal St.) by 5 p.m. that day in exchange for a sweet treat! No purchase necessary.
