Del Ray or Old Town — which has better restaurants? (Or the better softball players?)
The Del Ray Business Association will be playing the Old Town Business and Professional Association in a charity softball game Tuesday evening benefitting ACT for Alexandria. Many players will be from neighborhood restaurants.
The softball game will be on the Four Mile Run Softball Field, 3700 Commonwealth Ave.
There will be on-site activities for kids, a DJ, raffles, food trucks and more.
ACT for Alexandria past president and CEO John Porter will throw the first pitch. Alexandria Fire Chief Robert Dube, Alexandria Police Chief Michael Brown and Sheriff Dana Lawhorne will umpire.
This is the first game in what organizers plan to turn into an annual event.
Opening pitch will be shortly after 6 p.m.
The rain date is Tuesday, May 15.
