Don’t miss these spring events coming up in Del Ray!
• The 2nd Annual Del Ray Dog Fest is a fun outdoor event that will include dog-centered activities, dog menu items, live music, vendors and food on Sunday, April 14 from 11am-3pm at the George Washington Middle School parking lot. This festival is dog friendly and takes place outdoors, rain or shine. Special thanks to our presenting sponsor, The Peele Group! Planned activities include a Pups n Poses Yoga Class with Yoga In Del Ray, Luring Course, Off-Leash Puppy Playground, Rescue Row, Kids Zone, Dog Fashion Show, Distracted Dog Race, Live music by Rook Richards, Yappy Hours, and more!
• Celebrate National Gardening Month with First Thursday: Del Ray in Bloom! on Thursday, April 4 from 6 p.m. to dusk along Mount Vernon Avenue. Join the Del Ray community for live music, themed activities, gardening demonstrations, a plant swap, pop-up market, and more!
• The Del Ray Farmers’ Market takes place every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m at the Pat Miller Neighborhood Square. Their popular POP (Power of Produce) Kids’ Club returns April 13 featuring cooking demonstrations for kids by neighborhood chefs; click here for details.
• In the spirit of Celebrate Diversity Month, the Del Ray Artisans’ exhibit, Same But Different, explores notions of identity, distinctions and similarities in our natural and manmade world. The exhibit runs April 5-27; visit delrayartisans.org for more information and gallery hours.
• Find your treasure! The Del Ray Vintage & Flea Market takes place Saturday, April 13 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Mount Vernon & East Bellefonte Avenues featuring over 50 vintage and thrift vendors and creatives.
• The Del Ray Citizens’ Association’s GardenFest takes place Sunday, April 21 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Colesanto Park at the intersection of Mt. Vernon & Commonwealth Avenues. This free, annual gardening festival features a wide range of free garden-centric demonstrations, informational booths, and activities.
Spring2ACTion, Alexandria’s Day of Giving, takes place on Wednesday, April 24. Follow our @visitdelray channels for special events and restaurant fundraisers to benefit Alexandria non-profits.
The Friends of Duncan Library’s Spring Book Sale features book bargains for all ages, to help fund materials and programs for Duncan Library. The sale takes place April 24-27.
