A cocktail reception, three-course dinner, live music and a silent auction are part of the fun Sept. 22 when the American Horticultural Society will celebrate "25 Years of Color in the Garden" at its Annual Gala. Monte Durham, the star of the TLC TV program "Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta," is serving as honorary chair of the event this year. The gala takes place Saturday, Sept. 22 from 6-10 p.m.
The silver anniversary gala will be held under the stars at AHS' headquarters at River Farm. Proceeds raised at the Gala will provide vital funds for an array of key programs-most notably the stewardship of the historic headquarters at River Farm and the Society’s education and outreach programs.
Since 1922, the American Horticultural Society (AHS) has been at the forefront of American horticulture. AHS members include professional horticulturists, garden designers, scientists and Master Gardeners to home gardeners, garden club members and many others who love plants and gardens.
The gala host committee includes Leslie Ariail, Barbara Becker, Skipp Calvert, Drew Cariaso, Laura Dowling, Amanda Mertins, Joanne Sawczuk and Jan Test.
