The Alexandria Drive-In has released its list of movie selections for the fall "Encore Season," with each movie night supporting a different Alexandria non-profit organization.
There will be eight nights of movies from Halloween through early December, including five double-feature nights. Movies are $35 per car, per movie. Movies are in the parking lot of the Victory Center, 5001 Eisenhower Ave.
Tickets are being released for the first movies now, with proceeds supporting the National Breast Center Foundation.
The Alexandria Drive-In is a collaboration between ALX Community and The Garden, with extensive support by several local businesses. Shows are run by volunteers, allowing the Alexandria Drive-In to donate thousands of dollars to local nonprofit organizations. For this series of movies, top signature partners are Jack Taylor’s Toyota, The Jen Walker Team at McEnearney and Yates Service.
“Alexandria Drive-In started as a dream to help raise funds for locally loved nonprofits and to offer friends and neighbors safe family entertainment. Our entire (all-volunteer) crew was so amazed at the community response and continuing desire for the drive-in, it was a unanimous decision to find a way to continue with a second series” said Kelly Grant, Chief Operating Officer for ALX Community.
The first two movies are showing Halloween night, Saturday, Oct. 31. The 5:30 p.m. showing is Casper. The 9 p.m. showing is The Mummy.
The schedule for the remaining shows is as follows:
The Encore series is supporting a different Alexandria non-profit each weekend. Movie tickets are sold separately for each individual movie, even on double-feature nights. Food trucks will be on site for each movie.
Tickets will be released ahead of each movie. For ticket release notifications, sign up at AlexandriaDriveIn.com
The summer series, which started in August and concluded earlier this month, raised thousands of dollars for ACT for Alexandria and Athena Rapid Response.
