ACT for Alexandria
April is here and that means Spring2ACTion, Alexandria’s Giving Day is just around the corner.
Spring2ACTion, hosted by ACT for Alexandria, is Alexandria’s biggest fundraising event – in fact, since 2011, 65,000 generous donors have given more than $10 million dollars to 160 nonprofits through Spring2ACTion, making it one of the most successful city-wide giving days in the country!
Last year, 9,816 donors raised more than $2M for 162 nonprofits serving Alexandria.
This year, for our 10-year anniversary, our goal is for 10,000 donors to give to the 160+ organizations helping to make Alexandria a strong, healthy and vibrant community for all.
What is Spring2ACTion?
Spring2ACTion is a 24-hour online giving event that inspires individuals to make a difference in their community by connecting them to the local causes they’re passionate about on an easy-to-use giving platform allowing them to donate to nonprofits in their neighborhood.
As an online community-wide event, Spring2ACTion provides an opportunity for Alexandrians to come together, uplift one another, and support the organizations that serve our community in the best of times and during challenging times.
Why should I give?
Spring2ACTion is a way to celebrate and support the nonprofits in Alexandria that make this a better place for everyone to live. Plus, your gift could be matched and help your favorite nonprofit win a prize! If you’re new to giving, this is a great opportunity to find a new organization to support. Everyone can give – the minimum donation is $5. Your support is especially needed now as our nonprofits are being confronted with an unprecedented challenge – one that threatens the critical services they provide and the organizations themselves.
To whom should I give?
Your favorite nonprofit(s)! Click here see a list of participating organizations. Don’t know where to give? You can “Give to a Cause” – the options include Animals, Arts & Culture, Education, Homelessness and Housing, Poverty & Hunger, Seniors, and Youth.
You will also have the opportunity to give to the ACT Now COVID-19 Response Fund by adding a small optional donation of $5 or $10 at checkout.
Where should I give?
Online at www.Spring2ACTion.org – you can give through your computer or via your smartphone. You can begin making donations on starting April 3, the first day of Early Giving.
When should I give?
Wednesday, April 15, 2020 is Spring2ACTion day! While the official day for this online giving extravaganza is April 15, early giving is going on now. It’s kind of like early voting, but you can give EARLY and OFTEN!
How can I help?
- Donate online to your favorite nonprofit(s) and learn about new ones. A donation of any size will make a big difference!
- Support our local businesses by visiting the Businesses Give Back page to see fun promotions like a free donut from Elizabeth’s Counter with proof of donation and a special Spring2ACTion pizza from Mia’s Italian Kitchen.
- Spread the word by texting a friend, forwarding this link and sharing about Spring2ACTion via email, social media using #Spring2ACTion, or word-of-mouth.
