Killa Cakes, a creative cake bakery, has opened in the Pendleton Carryout Company.
Killa Cakes (learn more at www.killacakes.com) starts serving up dessert Friday, Nov. 30, with "out of the box" flavors like Snack Attack, a cake with kettle cooked chips mixed into a batter, frosted with dulce de leche buttercream and topped with a chocolate stout sauce and pretzel crack.
Founder Bria Taylor is also offering flavors like Coco Loco, Killa Confetti and a desert called Atomic Brownies. Taylor herself is a graphic design and photography enthusiast. She has sold cakes at Shop Made in DC, Femme Fatale's pop-up shops, Post Coffee Bar in Tysons and elsewhere.
Pendleton Smash Burger is also starting operations at Pendleton Carryout Company on Friday, offering Allen Brothers smashed hamburger patties, along with continuing to offer pizza from Sliced and dumplings from Laoban.
