Tulip was rescued from a dog meat farm in South Korea in 2016, thanks to Humane Society International. (Fortunately, this dog meat farm has since closed and been converted into a vegetable and chili farm!)
Tulip is loving life in Virginia! While she is still learning to trust, she is blossoming into a smart, playful pup. Tulip loves lots of walks and relaxing in her dog bed while watching Netflix. The key to her heart is hotdogs and sweet potatoes with lots of ear scratches. For a hotdog chunk, Tulip is happy to show off her "sit" and give you a smile.
This goofy girl would love room to grow in a patient family, who can show her the ropes and is active enough to keep up! Tulip is still shy at first, but once she warms up, her lab-ish personality shines through and she will make every day brighter. With her big brown eyes and sweet personality, Tulip is sure to win your heart. She likes to be wherever you are, whether you're in the kitchen cooking, outside gardening, or relaxing in living room. She is a happy companion and content to be nearby.
After time in foster care, Tulip became so affectionate with her foster family, often nosing them for head and ear rubs before settling nearby and nibbling on toys in a fluffy dog bed. We have been so impressed with her growing friendliness with strangers. Tulip is a playful spirit who loves her bones, squeaky rope, and kong filled with kibble or treats.
Once she knows you, Tulip will be your best buddy and the joy in your day. She just needs some extra patience and love to feel at home first.
Tulip is our longest resident at AWLA and if you ask Tulip, she is ready to finally find her family and she hopes it's yours!
