Independent and family-owned natural pet food and supplies store Felix & Oscar has moved from its longtime location in Springfield to a larger space at 5840 Kingstowne Center, Suite 100. The shop was formerly located at 6671-A Backlick Rd in Springfield next to the Regional Veterinary Referral Center in Backlick Shopping Center.
The store was originally opened in 2007 by Steve and Diana Greiner after they learned about the highly processed and artificial ingredients in the majority of the standard food they were feeding their beloved pets. The store focuses on selling healthy, high-quality, holistic and organic pet food with natural, wholesome ingredients.
The Greiners retired in 2019 when ownership passed to Anthony Roberts and Matthew O’Leary, who originally discovered Felix & Oscar in 2008 as customers looking for healthy food for their cats. O’Leary began working at the store in 2012.
While leaving the Springfield store is bittersweet because of the 15 years of memories made there, Roberts and O’Leary are excited about the new location. “Please know that although we’re moving - it’s the same store, the same team, the same owners, and the same philosophy as we’ve always had: above all else, we want your pet to be healthy and live their best lives. It’s what we were founded on, and that doesn’t stop today,” O’Leary said in a Facebook post.
In addition to carrying healthy food for dogs and cats, Felix & Oscar also carries a variety of other pet supplies like treats, toys, collars, beds, bowls and supplements. You and your furry family members can stop by the new store (located in Kingstowne Center next to Starbucks) from Monday to Friday between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m., Saturday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. or Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Items can also be purchased online for store pickup or local delivery.
