Warm, furry stress relief has arrived!
Mount Purrnon Cat Café has opened at 109 S. Alfred St. in Old Town Alexandria.
According to the Mount Purrnon website at mtpurrnoncatcafe.com:
"Mount Purrnon Cat Café will be a space where you can make yourself comfortable and have fun, while helping adoptable cats! ... Make yourself at home in our cat lounge or grab a drink in our separate café and bar area Play some games, do some work, read a book, socialize with people and/or cats... the space is yours!"
The menu includes sandwiches, salads and snacks, plus a variety of drinks.
The cats are in a room that is separate from the food preparation and cafe area.
The cats came to Mount Purrnon from Fancy Cats and Dogs and all of them are up for adoption.
The cafe will be open every day except Tuesday, and — especially at the beginning — it is recommended that you book an appointment online.
