Four-legged residents of North Old Town will soon have a place for food, treats and pampering just around the corner. Pet retailer Loyal Companion is opening a store at 923 N. St. Asaph St., next to furniture store West Elm.
Loyal Companion first began opening stores in May 2019. The store brand is under the umbrella of Independent Pet Partners along with Kriser’s, Natural Pawz and Chuck & Don’s which operates stores across the country.
Loyal Companion describes itself as a pet wellness store and experience. “We’re a community of experts from nutritionists to groomers to behaviorists dedicated to holistic pet wellness. Here, you’ll find everything you need under one virtual and physical roof. Natural food. Healthy treats. Supplies. Grooming. Daycare. Training. Vet services. Advice. And a comprehensive loyalty program like no other that rewards you for every way you take care of your pet,” reads the brand’s website.
The Alexandria store joins other locations in the DC metro area including Fairfax, Arlington, Falls Church, Northwest DC and Bethesda.
Loyal Companion will officially open on Feb. 25. The store is celebrating its grand opening in Alexandria April 7-11 with “5 Days of Free,” which includes free samples, free nail trims, free treats and free advice, according to an advertisement through the brand’s Instagram account. The store hours posted to the website are Sunday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
