Animal Welfare League of Alexandria
With summer underway, we are also in the middle of another season: Kitten Season. Every week, dozens of young kittens come to the AWLA, in need of medical attention, foster care and when they are big enough, families to call their own.
Throughout the summer, we will see new litters of kittens ready for adoption each week. Kittens like Leo and Charlie, beautiful gray sweethearts whose purrs are unexpectedly large, coming from such wee kittens.
Orange-and-white Twix is the first of his siblings, all named after sweet candies, to be ready for adoption, and he's ready and raring for the adventure.
And beautiful black Topaz can be shy at first, but once he knows he's found a friend, it's playtime and purring from there on out.
If you are interested in learning more about any of these kittens, or scheduling some time to meet them virtually or in-person, read more about how to do so at AlexandriaAnimals.org/Adopt-By-Appointment.
And don't forget that just because you see a kitten in the great outdoors does NOT necessarily mean that it needs help; most kittens are healthy and safest in the care of a mother cat. Learn more about how you can help healthy kittens HERE and call the AWLA at 703.746.4774 if you have any questions.
