St. Patrick's Day events in Alexandria were postponed on March 3 due to the windstorm.

The Animal Welfare League of Alexandria, in partnerships with The Ballyshaners, will be hosting the annual FUN DOG SHOW before the Alexandria St. Patrick’s Parade.
Registration fees from the event benefit AWLA.
The Fun Dog Show is hosted every year at Market Square in front of Alexandria City Hall before the Ballyshaner's St. Patrick's Day Parade. (Learn more about the parade here.)
This year's dog show is at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, March 18.

Winners will receive a 2018 “Pet” Troy Award Trophy, in honor of this year’s St. Patrick's Day Parade Grand Marshalls Pat and Bernadette Troy. Following tradition, the dogs will kick off the St. Patrick's Day Parade after the dog show.
This event is best for dogs who are comfortable in crowds, and the AWLA asks that dogs be on a non-extendable leash no longer than 6 feet. Registration is $30 per dog, per category.
