The Animal Welfare League of Alexandria’s 2019 “Pets in the City” photo calendar contest launches Friday, June 1.
This is one of AWLA’s most important fundraisers — “Your participation in the 2019 AWLA photo calendar contest will support animals across Alexandria, so please enter your pet and vote for your favorites throughout the month of June for the chance to win great prizes and help animals in need,” according to AWLA.
Sponsors this year include Fort Hunt Animal Hospital, Hayfield Animal Hospital and Whole Dogz.
The first 25 pets who register will each receive 100 additional votes just for participating early. The first 10 entrants who include a YouTube video of their pet as part of their registration will receive another 100 votes. People can register their pets anytime in the month of June and take advance of ongoing contest challenges to help pets win more points. Registration is $30 and is tax-deductible as a donation to AWLA.
All entrants will receive a free calendar, appear in the calendar and have the chance to win prizes based on the number of votes their pet receives.
Top vote earners will get premium placement in the calendar and may win a pet photography session with AWLA’s professional photographers.
