Alexandria's Animal Idol starts soon.
During the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria’s biggest fundraiser, your pet can flaunt their best angles, show off a secret talent and participate in fun calendar challenges to become Alexandria’s Animal of 2020.
Enter your fabulous pet in the annual calendar photo contest, which helps raise funds to support animals at the Vola Lawson Animal Shelter and throughout the community.
Registration starts June 1 and continues through June 30. It is encouraged that you register as soon as possible — early entrants are likely to get more votes! Share photos, text, and videos that highlight your pet. The pet with the most votes by June 30 will be Grand Prize Winner and crowned Alexandria’s Animal of 2020.
This pet will have their image featured on buses throughout the city later in 2019, be the front and back cover model of the AWLA calendar, be featured on the AlexandriaAnimals.org home page and more.
Registration costs $30, but $20 of the price will be considered a tax deductible donation to AWLA. You will also receive a complementary calendar with your registration. You may include more than one pet in each registration.
