A project to demolish three single-family homes on Seminary Road and replace them with townhomes and condos has started.
The plans for the 2.8-acre site just east of Fire Station 206 on Seminary Road include 31 townhomes and 5 condominium flats, which will be available for ownership.
Housing Alexandria announced in December that the shared equity homeownership program will allow families earning up to 80% of the Area Median Income to purchase a home and enjoy the benefits of homeownership at the Seminary Road development.
An additional 3 flats would be owned and occupied by Sheltered Homes of Alexandria to allow them to continue to serve up to 12 residents. More information is available at housingalexandria.org/seminary.
In addition, in a recent newsletter, Housing Alexandria annonced $10.9 million in new funding from the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development (DCHS) for the Seminary Road project and another project across town, the development of Sansé and Naja.
