The Pride of Baltimore II will dock in Alexandria this month for a few days.
From Oct. 20 - 22, the ship will visit Alexandria and allow visitors to board free of charge from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. for dock tours.
Details about reservations, times and are available at pride2.org/come-aboard.
"Pride of Baltimore II set sail as the goodwill ambassador for the state of Maryland in 1988. She was built to continue the mission of her predecessor, Pride of Baltimore, tragically lost in a storm in the Atlantic Ocean in May 1986," according to the ship's website.
Pride of Baltimore II is a Baltimore clipper topsail schooner. Like the original Pride of Baltimore, it is modeled after the Chasseur, built in 1812.
Alexandria's own tall ship, Providence, is permanently docked at the Senator John Warner Maritime Heritage Center at Waterfront Park.
Pride of Baltimore will dock at Providence's old dock near the Alexandria Seaport Foundation at the southwest end of Founder's Park.
