Fairfax County is looking for resident's input in how land is developed, which can affect housing, transportation and quality of life.
The Community Kick-Off Meeting for Plan Forward is scheduled for Wednesday, May 29, from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at the Southgate Community Center in Reston.
The Alexandria-area Community Kick-Off Meeting will be Saturday, June 8 from 10 a.m. - noon at the Gerry Hyland Government Center, 8350 Richmond Hwy, in Alexandria.
In addition to community meetings, residents can take a survey to voice their opinions.
"Fairfax County has launched a new, multi-year project to update policies that guide how land is developed. Called Plan Forward, the project focuses specifically on the Policy Plan which is a component of the Comprehensive Plan, the county’s long-term vision for land use. Plan Forward is an important opportunity to ensure updated Comprehensive Plan policies such as land use, housing, sustainability, and transportation, enhance the quality of life for our residents," the survey website explains.
