The threat of thunderstorms did not deter people from gathering to honor those who have lost their lives.
A peaceful vigil gathered around 7 p.m. Thursday to pay respects to George Floyd and others who have lost their lives because of the color of their skin.
The event started in the parking lot of Charles Houston Recreation Center in Old Town. Hosted by Boyd Walker and Marianne Anderson, the vigil drew residents with signs, banners and candles.
