2023 Historic Alexandria ornament
This year’s Historic Alexandria holiday ornament commemorates part of Alexandria’s 20th-century history, featuring Potomac Rail Yard. Adjacent to the Del Ray neighborhood, Potomac Rail Yard operated from 1906 to 1987.
The ornament coincides with the site’s newest addition, WMATA’s Potomac Yard Metro Station. The snow-dappled rail yard is flanked by Route 1 and the U.S. Capitol dome in the distance, with a late-model steam engine heading southbound.
The ornament is $25 and is available NOW in Historic Alexandria museum stores and in our online store. Order by Dec. 19 to ship before Dec. 24.
