Galactic Panther, a new art gallery at 1303 King St. in Alexandria, will open in early August.
The art gallery is a partnership between internationally-exhibiting artist Eli Pollard and Erik Meundel, who is the current owner of ESP Tea & Coffee.
“Our first exhibit, entitled 'ESP' (EXTRASENSORY PERCEPTION), reflects the spirit of Galactic Panther, which is focused on contemporary art that doesn’t limit itself by genre, media, borders, or states of mind. It’s a collection of work by over 30 talented and diverse artists,” Pollard said. “I have recently been trained in hypnotherapy, and my wife is a reiki master – both of which are very intuitive art forms, but I feel that ESP is an ability that we all possess. Although science took a while to prove the existence of ESP, artists have been employing this extra sense in their creative endeavors all along.”
Galactic Panter's first exhibit will open August 6 with a gallery opening featuring live music, food and more. A portion of sales from Galactic Panther will go towards charities that feed people in need of assistance.
“This is one of the things I feel most excited about, and my hope is that while serving up the most incredible artwork and live music to the people of Old Town Alexandria,D.C., and beyond, we are also expanding our ability to serve the population who needs it the most,” Pollard said.
Regular gallery hours will be Wednesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m.
