The Chamber ALX has named M. Cathy Puskar, a land use attorney whose name regularly appears on city council dockets, as the 2022 Business Leader of the Year.
She will be honored at the 2022 Best in Business Awards, presented by Burke & Herbert Bank, on Oct. 27, along with a variety of local businesses who contribute positively to the community.
Puskar is an attorney with Walsh, Colucci, Lubeley, & Walsh, P.C., a law firm she joined in 1998. Her practice focuses on land use and zoning matters in the City of Alexandria and Arlington County. "With an in-depth knowledge of the law, process, politics, and people required to achieve her clients’ goals, Cathy has successfully represented a number of clients in obtaining the necessary entitlements for a variety of projects including major residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments," according to The Chamber ALX.
Nominations for the Best in Business Awards, which will be presented Oct. 27, are due on Aug. 19. "This is our version of the Oscars as we roll out the red carpet and share the stories behind the success of Alexandria businesses. Judging is competitive and winning is a tremendous honor," according to the organization.
The celebration will be at The Westin Hotel in the Carlyle neighborhood. Tickets are available here.
