City officials are taking then next steps in updating and coordinating plans for Alexandria West, including addressing housing, culture, transportation, land use, parks, and safety.
The next community meeting will be hosted at 7:30 p.m. Monday, May 8 at Ferdinand T. Day Elementary School, 1701 N Beauregard Street, Alexandria, Virginia 22311. The meeting will also be held online via Zoom.
The planning process will continue through the middle of 2024. The May 8 agenda will include community discussion of the draft plan objectives derived from community feedback to date. A meeting agenda will be posted on the project webpage. Food, childcare, and language interpretation will be available.

City officials want to "update the long-term vision for the 1992 Alexandria West Small Area Plan and integrate the 2012 Beauregard Small Area Plan. Creating an updated community vision for the future allows us to proactively plan for change and prepare for challenges and opportunities in the years to come," according to the area plan website (at alexandriava.gov/AlexandriaWest).
