Interested in biking to work this summer?
An increasing number of Alexandria residents are considering it due to the coming shutdown of all Metro rail stations south of Reagan National Airport this summer as part of the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA)'s Platform Improvement Project.
In response, the City of Alexandria has worked with the Washington Area Bicyclists Association (WABA) that will help residents prepare for their new commutes.
The City is also putting in new way-finding signage to help direct residents along their routes.
The WABA/City of Alexandria bicycle clinic is this Sunday, May 5 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event is at Jones Point Park in Alexandria.
Registration for this Sunday's ride is open now. Register here.
