Have you ever been talking to someone outside in Alexandria and had to stop mid-sentence to wait for noise from an airplane to pass? Have airplanes woken you up late at night or early in the morning?
The Alexandria Dept. of Transportation and Environmental Services (TES) is hosting a virtual community open house meeting on the South of the Airport Noise Mitigation Project Thursday evening, June 27, from 6 - 8 p.m. The meeting will be through Zoom (links and info below).
The South of Airport Noise Mitigation Project started in May 2023. The project brings together officials from the City of Alexandria, Fairfax County and Prince George’s County for a two-year airport noise study with Vianair Consulting. The company has had success in working to reduce noise north of DCA by working with Arlington County, Montgomery County and FAA and airport officials.
In addition to the open house, Vianair Consulting has a public survey open for community feedback.
