CommonWealth One Federal Credit Union, with branches in the Alexandria area and in Harrisonburg, Virginia, is giving away $10,000 to a nonprofit organization — and you can vote to determine the winner.
CommonWealth One asked its members to submit a video about their favorite charity or community project in The Big Giver contest. The credit union chose five finalists and will donate $10,000 in their members' name to the organization.
The five organizations vying for the prize are:
- Alexandria Seaport Foundation (nominated by Claire Given)
- Good Shepherd Housing and Family Services (nominated by Lisa Bowman)
- The Animal Welfare League of Alexandria (nominated by Daniel Beason)
- Big Brothers Big Sisters of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County (nominated by Brian Nixon)
- Kesem at JMU (nominated by Terry Fernsler)
