Early giving has started for ACT for Alexandria's Spring2ACTion, which raises funds for local nonprofit organizations.
Last year, thanks in part to a strong Early Giving push, donations surpassed $2.47 million for 156 local nonprofits, setting a new record.
Hosted by ACT for Alexandria, Spring2ACTion is the only citywide giving day in the region designed to strengthen the impact of local nonprofits. This year, the official Day of Giving is April 27, but residents are encouraged to give now through www.spring2action.org.
Spring2ACTion events are starting next week to draw people together in support of Alexandria's nonprofits.
Chadwick's is hosting a Spring2ACTion Dinner on Wednesday, April 20, with all proceeds go to Spring2ACTion. The menu includes White Stone Oysters, Yuca Fritters, Fresh Ricotta Peppers, Spring Cobb Salad, Monkfish Taco, Steak & Potatoes and Coffee Glazed Donuts, and drinks will be flowing. Tickets are available through Eventbrite.
The Spring2ACTion kick-off party at The Garden in Alexandria's West End is set for Thursday, April 21. The celebration will include food, drinks and a variety of prizes. Kick-off party tickets are available here through Eventbrite.
Since its inception in 2011, Spring2ACTion has raised more than $15 Million for local nonprofits.
