It's time to Spring2ACTion!
Alexandria's official Day of Giving is April 28, but early giving is open and residents are generously donating to more than 100 local nonprofit organizations.
Last year, Spring2ACTion raised a record-breaking $2.45 million for local nonprofits, including raising close to $150,000 for ALIVE!
Since its inception in 2011, Spring2ACTion has raised more than $12.5 Million for local nonprofits. Hosted by ACT for Alexandria, Spring2ACTion is the only citywide giving day in the region designed to strengthen the impact of local nonprofits.
In 2020, the statewide stay-at-home order prevented donor gatherings, pop-up fundraisers and parties during Spring2ACTion, but Alexandria residents and donors from around the country rallied from home. This year, some restaurants, businesses and organizations will welcome limited parties and fundraisers again.
Spring2ACTion is organized by ACT for Alexandria, a community foundation that raises money to support local nonprofits, community initiatives and more. Learn more at www.actforalexandria.org.
This year, Alexandria Living Magazine is encouraging donors to give to Volunteer Alexandria, which matches local volunteers with needs in the community such as food distribution and tutoring. Volunteer Alexandria also helps train residents in emergency preparedness, organizes Breaks with Impact volunteer education and opportunities for students and more.
