"We did it! Thank you to everyone who helped us reach our goal of collecting 30,000 pounds of canned goods and cooking oil during @volunteeralexandria's July Food Drive. Together we collected 33,511 pounds and more is on the way to the ALIVE! Warehouse," ALIVE! wrote in an Instagram post.
ALIVE! hosts a variety of programs for residents in need of assistance, including food distribution, emergency financial assistance, furniture donations and more. The organization's mission is "to alleviate the suffering caused by poverty and to dramatically improve the lives of those in need in the City of Alexandria."

ALIVE! provides basic groceries to roughly 12,000 to 15,000 people each month, and seeks contributions throughout the year to help fight poverty and hunger in the City of Alexandria," ALIVE! wrote in its Instagram post.
