White Lily Shoppe is opening its first retail storefront Saturday.
White Lily Shoppe started here in Alexandria and features a line of all-natural, organic body care products.
The new store is at 101A South St. Asaph St.
“I started WLS in 2019 as a side project [when] I was planning my sister-in-law’s baby shower and needed party favors,” said founder Bianca Del Cid. “I found some beautiful hand-made soaps on Pinterest and thought, 'I can make these!' and since that day, I just kept going. I ended up opening an Etsy shop six months later, and then I applied for my very first trade show by the end of 2019.”
Del Cid has always been passionate about living a healthier lifestyle and being mindful about consumption. During the pandemic, she became more aware of the unnecessary ingredients found in everyday skincare products and decided to make her own soap from scratch, using the traditional cold-process method.
With values in sustainability and using only ingredients found in nature, she decided to re-launch the brand in 2021 and left her public service career (she worked for Alexandria's Health and Human Services division) to continue building White Lily Shoppe.
"Our mission is to provide sustainable and eco-friendly bath and body products, promoting well-being through natural ingredients and responsible consumption. As part of our commitment to the environment, we are excited to introduce a 'Recycle your empties' program to encourage citizens to join us in our efforts." Del Cid said.
