49 condos and retail are coming to 1800 Mount Vernon Ave. in late 2018.
New condos with voice-enabled windows shades and lights, wi-fi connected appliances, a smart thermostat and more are coming to Del Ray.
Where there is now a deep hole in the ground and a large construction crane at 1800 Mount Vernon Avenue will become the Del Ray Place condos.
With sales scheduled to start later this year, the building will feature 49 decidedly modern condos. The building is located directly across from Alexandria Hyundai and will have retail space on the ground-level floor.
The condos will be fully “smart” with voice-activated and app-controlled utilities and environmental features. The units will also be energy-efficient and have open floor plans.
One-bedroom condos will start in the mid-$300,000s, and two-bedroom condos will start in the $500,000s. The building will also have two-bedroom units that have a den, and some units will come with private balconies.
Brookfield Residential is the developer. The block once housed Arlandria Floors in a one-story, Art Deco-style building. Arlandria Floors is now located at 1606 Mount Vernon Avenue.
