Each spring, visitors are welcomed to more than 250 of Virginia's most beautiful gardens, homes and historic landmarks — including some in Alexandria — during "America's Largest Open House."
The eight-day statewide event, the 85th Annual Historic Garden Week, provides visitors with an opportunity to see unforgettable gardens at the peak of Virginia's springtime color, as well as beautiful houses sparkling with more than 2,300 flower arrangements created by Garden Club of Virginia members.
Tour proceeds fund the restoration and preservation of more than 40 of Virginia's historic public gardens and landscapes, a research fellowship program, and a Garden Club of Virginia Centennial project with Virginia State Parks.
Tickets for the Old Town Alexandria tour, which is set for Saturday, April 21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., are $45, plus a $3.24 service fee. Purchase tickets here.
The walking tour in Old Town includes five homes as well as refreshments at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, a marketplace at the Athenaeum and entrance to Green Spring Gardens and Mount Vernon.
