An Alexandria home that was listed for $60 million sold for $48 million in a cash transaction in late October. The home set a new record in the DC metro area for the most expensive home sold.
A former Lockheed Martin executive sold the massive property, called River View Estate, on East Boulevard Drive.
River View Estate sits on 16+ acres along the Potomac River. Heather Corey of TTR Sotheby’s International Realty listed the property.
However, Washington Business Journals has a slideshow of the home here. The Wall Street Journal reported that the home, which was recently built, is 16,000 square feet. It has 7 bedrooms, 8 full and 7 half baths, and features like a gym with river views, a spa, steam room, home theater and a variety of smart home features. (You can see photos of the home here.)
The most expensive publicly listed homes in Alexandria now are:
607 Oronoco St. is back on the market for $5,995,000. "The Potts-Fitzhugh House resides on a half-acre double lot in the heart of Old Town Alexandria," the listing says. It has six bedrooms, four full baths and two half baths. The listing omits the fact that it was the childhood home of Robert E. Lee. Lauren Bishop, McEnearney Associates, has the listing.
2 Wolfe St. is listed for $4,150,000. The five-story townhouse has its own 35-foot boat slip, three bedrooms, four gas fireplaces and, on the first level, "triple sets of French doors opening to the blissful brick patio overlooking the river." Babs Beckwith, McEnearney Associates, has the listing.
5075 Polk Ave. is listed for $3,950,000. The home sits on 3.4 acres in Alexandria's West End. The mid-century modern home has seven bedrooms, six baths (plus a half bath), and some of the land can be sold for new homes. Sue Goodhart of Compass Real Estate has the listing.
