Developers Horizon Builders and Harrison Design have proposed building a $38 million estate on 10 acres in the Alexandria area south of the Beltway.
The proposed home has 7 bedrooms, 8 full and 4 half baths, a separate conservatory, sport courts, and several lower level rooms for interests like crafts, recreation and games. The home also includes includes a library, expansive kitchen, bar, and indoor/outdoor living through covered porches and decks. The outside includes a yoga pavillion, guest house, pool and more.
According to the listing from Sherif Abdalla of Compass:
“A rare opportunity has arrived: The chance to own 10 acres on the scarce residential waterfront property that lies between Old Town Alexandria and George Washington’s Mount Vernon. Subdivided into four lots, the land is being sold as a construction-ready single parcel with a private gated roadway and cul-de-sac. Whoever builds on this idyllic, tree-lined setting will already have a private dock and beach that enjoy spectacular views along the Potomac River toward a wooded Maryland shore.”
Abdalla said Thursday night that there has been some interest in the property in the past two months. The $38 million price tag is what it would cost to acquire the land and build the proposed home on the site. The land comes with a boat dock and plenty of access to the Potomac River. The 10-acre plot without a home on it is listed for $14,995,000.
The address will be 7983 E. Boulevard Dr., Alexandria, VA 22308. it is located just south of the American Horticultural Society's River Farm and just north of the historic Collingwood mansion (see map below).
