Orangetheory Fitness may be opening in Kingstowne Towne Center.
The fitness company has filed for permits with Fairfax County to renovate the former Johnny Rocket’s restaurant next to Regal Cinemas. The address is 5900 Kingstowne Center, Suite 100.
Orangetheory Fitness offers a series of hour-long, unique, group training fitness programs. The program is based on high-intensity interval training based on heart rate, and the company claims that its workouts help participants keep burning extra calories for up to 36-hour after a workout.
Each Orangetheory Fitness studio has treadmills, rowing machines, suspension unit systems, free weight, benches, bikes and striders.
The company has locations in Old Town Alexandria at 1101 King Street and in Potomac Yard at 1801 Jefferson Davis Highway. Other area locations include Arlington, Falls Church, Merrifield, Fairfax City and Lorton. The company started in Florida in 2010 and there are now more than 750 locations around the world.
Orangetheory Fitness did not respond to a request for comment.
Construction has not yet started and information is not yet available on when it may open.
