A new sandwich shop and quick-pickup store is coming to the Torpedo Factory.
A long, skinny retail storefront near the entrance to the Torpedo Factory, years ago, housed a frozen yogurt spot. It will be home to Union Sandwich Co.
The new venture comes from the team behind Slaters Market, which is located at 1552 Potomac Greens Drive near Slaters Lane. Slaters Market offers gourmet sandwiches, salads, wine, craft beer and other items. ("We're Hiring!" signs at Union Sandwich Co. direct potential employees to visit Slaters Market to apply.)
There will be counter seating for just a handful of people, as Union Sandwich Co. will focus on grab-and-go sandwiches, chips, snacks and more.
Signs are already up, and some merchandise is in the store now. An official opening date has not been announced.
