The Bun Papa won Outstanding Pop-Up Concept in the 2022 RAMMY Awards this week.
The award was in one of the categories decided by public vote this year.
The RAMMY Awards are presented by the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington RAMMY Awards annually honors the region's best restaurants, chefs and concepts in dining.
The Bun Papa opened as a pop-up — it's third location — in the spot that's now the Beeliner Diner at Bradlee Shopping Center. The Bun Papa still operates out of that space.
The pop-up restaurant was the creation of the team behind Bread & Water Company, Markos Panas, Noelle Rickey and Doug Abedje along with the culinary expertise of Chef Patrick Tanyag. It opened for take-out inside Bread & Water’s original location at 1512 Belle View Blvd., later opening a spot inside Capital One Arena in section 105 (closed for the summer), and a third location at 3648 King St. in the Bradlee Shopping Center.
